COLUMBIA, MO — The Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) has awarded WoodRiver Energy a three-year contract to be the natural gas supplier for the MSBA Natural Gas Consortium. The team at MSBA awarded WoodRiver Energy (WRE) the contract after an extensive evaluation of proposals from several natural gas suppliers.
Serving approximately 390 member districts, MSBA has helped Missouri schools improve education for students through training, support services, and cost savings programs. The MSBA Natural Gas Consortium is a major cost efficiency option for many schools.
“MSBA is pleased to have WoodRiver Energy as a partner in our natural gas program. Throughout our process WRE demonstrated a strong level of commitment to finding solutions and providing service to all participants,” commented Mike Parnell, an Associate Executive Director of MSBA. Parnell further added, “The program has saved participants about $95 million since inception in 2002. We believe this step will provide additional savings.”
Serving thousands of customers in nine states and Canada, WoodRiver Energy provides cost-effective solutions for commercial, agriculture, and non-profit organizations. The company continues to be a valued partner for many educational organizations such as the Kansas Association of School Boards, Nebraska Association of School Boards, and the Iowa Local Government Risk Pool with specialized solutions to meet their unique budget needs.
“We are excited about the benefits this partnership will bring to MSBA and its members,” said Don Krattenmaker, COO, WoodRiver Energy. “There are many changes happening in the energy world and our team will work closely with the administration at MSBA and its energy advisor to provide cost-effective solutions.”
The new contract will go into effect on July 1, 2022. WoodRiver Energy and MSBA are currently working jointly to ensure a smooth transition for all participants.
