Our Available Natural Gas Commodity Price Options
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all when it comes to your farm. With four natural gas commodity price options and terms up to 36 months, you can choose the best price option that fits your needs and budget.
Fixed Price
This price option provides complete budget protection by locking in your price per therm for up to 36 months.
Managed Price
This price option brings savings and a level of certainty by locking in 75% of your natural gas on the Fixed Price Option with the remaining 25% on the index price.
Seasonal Rate (New Option)
Designed for irrigation meters, the Seasonal Rate option offers a fixed price during the growing season (April through October), ensuring stable and predictable energy costs when you need it most. Outside of the growing season (November through March), your price will change to the index price for the winter months.
Index Rate
This price option follows the market price each month. The price can fluctuate depending on weather-driven demand.
Choice Gas Program
For nearly 30-years, the Choice Gas Program has provided customers the opportunity to purchase natural gas commodity from third-party suppliers in a competitive marketing place. Black Hills Energy will deliver the natural gas commodity through their infrastructure, read the meters, mail your bill, and will be responsible for any service or maintenance emergencies. Once you’ve made a selection, you will see the supplier you selected and the price you enrolled in on your bill.
